<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in charge/discharge cycle characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: An LOC battery 1 has a positive electrode 2, a negative electrode 4, and a nonaqueous electrolyte 7, and by adding an additive having potential higher than that at which lithium metal deposits on the negative electrode 4 and oxidation reduction potential lower than that of the charged state positive electrode 2 to the nonaqueous electrolyte 7, since the additive ionizes lithium metal deactivated on the negative electrode 4, deterioration in charge/ discharge cycle characteristics caused by the deactivation of the lithium metal deposited on the negative electrode 4 is prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
