A method for the production of tannin from the outer bark of pinus radiata

A method of producing tannin is disclosed, wherein the method comprises the steps of: separating radiata pine (Pinus radiata) bark into an outer bark and an inner bark; extracting only the outer bark with a lower alcohol or a lower alcohol/aqueous solvent; concentrating a tannin solution; and removing the solvent to yield a solid product of tannin.
