<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply cause matching of image structural characteristics of an image obtained by performing different image processing to the same image data to be output by an output device. <P>SOLUTION: A correction value setting part 60a performs image structure correction processing depending on contrast by changing a temporary sharpness gain g'<SB>h</SB>for a high contrast area and a temporary sharpness gain g'<SB>l</SB>for a low contrast area for image data S1 obtained by image processing sample image data S by a first image processing part 40, thereby obtaining a plurality of image data S1'. Out of the granularity and sharpness of these image data S', g'<SB>h</SB>and g'<SB>l</SB>used at the time of obtaining the image data S1' having the granularity and sharpness that most coincide with the granularity and sharpness of the image dada S2 obtained by image processing the sample image data S by a second image processing part 20 are set to the sharpness gain g<SB>h</SB>for high contrast area and the sharpness gain g<SB>l</SB>for the low contrast area to be provided for the image structure correction processing by a correction performing part 60b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
