PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a user is uncertain because the user cannot recognize how many rewritable number of times the card has when the memory card comprising a storage means whose rewritable number of times is finite is loaded on a camera.

SOLUTION: The memory card is respectively provided with areas for storing the number of formatted times and the number of rewritten times of the FAT area and the camera is configured to make prescribed indication according to the number of times read from the areas and to respectively write the new rewritten number of times corresponding to the image recording and formatting to the respective areas.
