PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the reception processing load such as data contents decoding for a received frame, and to reduce the power consumption of a receiver in a communication system for transmitting and receiving data by frame units. SOLUTION: A frame to be transmitted from a transmitter is added with a status flag SF for discriminating whether or not data in the frame are the same as data in the previously transmitted frame. In a receiver to start intermittent reception, at completing the reception of a frame 112 after starting a receiving operation period 213, a status flag SF<SB>2</SB>in the frame 112 is registered. Then, at receiving a status flag SF<SB>3</SB>after starting the reception of a following frame 113, the status flag SF<SB>3</SB>is compared with the registered status flag SF<SB>2</SB>, and when those flags are made coincident, it is judged that the frame 113 is the same as the frame 112, and the reception of the status flag SF<SB>3</SB>and following flags in the frame 113 is stopped.
