<p>Bowl-shaped container (10a) as a biodegradable molding comprises container main body (11a) whose main component is starch and, stuck to the surface thereof, coating film (12) with at least hydrophobic properties, composed mainly of a biodegradable plastic. The container main body (11a) is formed by steam foaming of a slurry or dough molding material comprising high amylose starch and water, or a slurry or dough molding material comprising starch, polyvinyl alcohol and water. Thus, there is obtained a biodegradable molding composed mainly of starch, which, even if having a complex configuration, not only can realize satisfactory strength and at least satisfactory water resistance but also exhibits highly desirable biodegradability and high moist strength.</p> |
