Each wagon has a skeleton frame with two long beams (3,4) at the sides and crossbeams (9) near the ends supported by 2-axle bogies (6). The ends of the long beams (19) extend beyond the crossbeams. The wagons are connected together by rigid rods (12) connected to the crossbeams, above or adjacent to the bogie pivots. There are springs at the ends of the coupling rods with arcuate rocker surfaces to provide longitudinal resilience and vertical and horiontal resilience. On some of the wagons each bogie may be replaced by a single axle. There are standard fastenings (21,22) on the long beams to hold the containers which overlap the ends of the wagons.
