PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stably producible silver halide photographic sensitive material having high sensitivity and excellent planeness. SOLUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material contains at least one synthetic polymer having a nitrogen-containing aromatic ring having a mercapto group represented by Z-SH (Z is a nitrogen-containing aromatic ring) as a partial structure. Preferably the silver halide photographic sensitive material contains at least one homopolymer or copolymer of an ethylenically unsaturated bondcontaining monomer having a mercapto group represented by SH-Z-L1- (L1is a divalent linking group or a single bond) in at least one end.
