A battery comprises a cell 2 having an electrode terminal 2d protruding from one side, a circuit board 3 attached along at least two sides of the battery cell, and a resin mould section (4, Fig 1) which at least partially covers the circuit board and the cell, thereby integrating them. The circuit board includes at least two rigid base sections 3a, 3b, 3c for mounting components 5, and flexible base sections 3d, 3e which connect between the rigid base sections. The rigid base section 3b is provided with an aperture 3f into which the electrode terminal is fitted, and an electrically conductive material, such as plate tab 7, which electrically connects the wiring of the circuit board to the electrode terminal. The plate tab may be welded in place. The circuit board components may include an externally protruding connection terminal 6. The battery may be used in mobile phones. |
