FIELD: controlling operation of object-oriented software applications. SUBSTANCE: software shell is linked with each software application stored in computer system and is loaded upon power system turn-on. Object-oriented image of software shell displayed for computer user on computer monitor can acquire almost any identified shape. Software shells provide for faster modular access to functional files and data files residing in mentioned software applications thereby saving computer system resources such as random-access memory and processing time.
