METALCLAD SWITCHGEAR AND ITS OPERATING PROCESS

FIELD: electrical engineering; power generation, conversion and distribution. SUBSTANCE: device has disconnecting switch mounted in cubicle and isolated from collecting buses and other live components in off-state of cubicle which is provided with door and catch lock. Novelty is that door has opening designed to receive isolating partition made of insulating material and provided with guides in off-position of disconnecting switch. Interlocking unit is designed to hold cubicle door closed when in on-state and for keeping isolating partition in its guides when door is open in offstate of cubicle. Interlocking unit has two levers joined together by means of spring; first one is double-arm lever with central slot on one end for accommodating door catch lock in closed position of door and recess on other end to receive projection made on one of ends of other lever; resting on other end of the latter is isolating partition held in guides by same projection when door is open. When in service switchgear is disconnected from supply mains, cubicle door is opened, and switchgear components are inspected. Prior to opening cubicle door isolating partition is moved over guides to place it in door opening in position preventing closure of disconnecting switch and ensuring cubicle door opening whereupon cubicle door is opened for inspection; then it is closed and interlocked.
