PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device advantageous in terms of cost and capable of enhancing the working efficiency in jam treatment, etc. SOLUTION: The image forming device has a motor driving device as a drive source for a paper transport system to supply the current on the constant current chopper control system using a stepping motor 101 and is equipped with a current increasing rate calculating means 201, a current increasing rate comparing means 201 to compare the current increasing rate with its threshold, a counting means 201 to count the number of times of exceeding the threshold continuously, a comparing means 201 to compare the obtained number with the reference value, a detuning sensing means 201 to determine as detuning if the obtained number of times has exceeded the reference value and determine as a warning for detuning if the obtained number of times lies below the reference value, a reversing roller 39, and a paper sensing means 102, wherein the reversing roller 39 starts the paper transport control with a wider interval than normal in case that a warning for detuning is sensed and that the paper sensing means 102 has sensed any recording sheet of paper existing.
