PURPOSE: A joining device for a liquid crystal display provides a supporting device for manufacturing a large scale LCD. CONSTITUTION: A vacuum chamber is provided to execute a joining process for substrates in the vacuum chamber. An upper stage and a lower stage(122) are oppositely installed at an upper space and a lower space in the vacuum chamber for chucking the substrates to be joined. A plurality of substrate support elements(401,402) contact with a plurality of cell areas formed on a back surface of the substrate(510) and a dummy area between the cell areas. The plurality of substrate support elements are different in length.
