PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a reaction time for industrially synthesizing an artificial zeolite having a high cation-exchange capacity by using a raw material containing a noncrystalline aluminosilicate such as incinerator ash and treating it with an alkali. SOLUTION: By heat-treating a municipal refuse incinerator ash in the presence of water and the alkali at 120-230°C, the artificial zeolite having a high cation-exchange capacity can be industrially manufactured by shortening its reaction time.
