PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aeration agitator which easily and promptly carries out the vertical movement of an aeration machine by a simple mechanism, and can simply select and efficiently perform an aerobic operation in which air is supplied under water and an anaerobic operation in which the air is not supplied under water only by switching the position of a cylindrical body relative to a water surface. SOLUTION: In the aeration agitator B having a vertical movement frame 3 provided with the main body 5 of the aeration machine having an agitation blade 53 attached to an agitation shaft 52 rotationally driven by a motor 51, and a cylindrical body 54 arranged so as to cover the outer periphery of the agitation shaft 52, the aerobic operation and the anaerobic operation are switched by at least moving up and down the cylindrical body 54.
