<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a 3-halopropylsilane compound in a good yield while lowering the proportion of a side reaction. <P>SOLUTION: A cyclic amine of formula [I] and a platinum compound are used as a catalyst when the 3-halopropylsilane compound is produced by hydrosilylation from an allyl halide compound and a hydrosilane compound.
