<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating organic sludge by which the sludge has low viscosity and can be easily sent, production of char is suppressed and treatment can be easily and efficiently performed. <P>SOLUTION: The organic sludge to be treated is introduced to a flocculating vessel 1 through a passage 11 and flocculation is performed by adding a polymer flocculating agent through a passage 12 into the vessel 1 to form a flocculated material. The quantity of the polymer flocculating agent to be added here is the quantity substantially necessary for a flocculating reaction, which is usually <2 wt.% to the SS in organic sludge, and specified to be the quantity with which concentrated sludge having 80 to 98 wt.% water content can be obtained. The flocculated material is concentrated in a concentrating apparatus 2, the resultant material is sent to a supplying apparatus 4a of a hydrothermal reaction apparatus 4 through a passage 21 by a high pressure pump P1 and here mixed with an oxidizing agent sent from an oxidizing agent vessel 5 through a passage 22 by a high pressure pump P2 and the mixed flow thereof is supplied to the hydrothermal reaction apparatus 4 in descending flow to perform a hydrothermal reaction maintaining a supercritical or subcritical state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
