PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure of a tub by providing a means for electrolyzing washing water also serving as a means for detecting the dirt degree of washing water. SOLUTION: In the condition where a D.C. power supply circuit 30 is driven by turning on a relay switch 29a, washing water filled between electrodes 17a and 17b is electrolyzed to generate electrolytic water. When the relay switch 29b is in on state, an oscillating circuit 31 oscillates with a frequency depending on the resistance value between the electrodes 17a, 17b varying with the conductivity of washing water, and the oscillation output is given through an amplifier circuit 33 to a control device 18. The control device 28 operates the oscillating circuit 21 at the initial stage of washing operation to measure the conductivity (oscillating frequency) of washing water, and according to the conductivity, the generation quantity of electrolytic water and the washing operating time are determined.
