<p>Plastic material is gelled and extrudd by gelling the thermoplastic material in a plate gelling device, dividing while still hot, degassing under vacuum, and introducing the material into a screw extruder. The method and apparatus enable thermoplastic material to be rapidly gelled, homogenised, degassed and extruded. The different parts of the apparatus are utilised in an optimum manner to achieve better production rates. The extruded polymer has improved mechanical and organoleptic properties.</p> |
