PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening and closing valve capable of reducing driving force of an opening and closing drive means for controlling connection and disconnection between a supply port and a discharge port even when supply pressure is high, or when maximum allowable flow is large. SOLUTION: This opening and closing valve includes a housing 101 having the supply port 108, the discharge port 110, and a valve seat 118, a supply pressure receiving surface 155 of a supply pressure receiving area held in the housing to be displaceable in an axial line direction to part the housing into a first pressure chamber 144 connected to the supply port and a second pressure chamber 150 connected to the discharge port to receive the supply pressure P1 from fluid in the first pressure chamber in one way of an axial line direction, a piston 102 having a back pressure receiving surface of the same area as the supply pressure receiving surface to receive the supply pressure from fluid of a back pressure chamber 135 connected to the first pressure chamber, and held at the supply pressure in the other way of the axial line direction, and a spring member 103 and a solenoid 132 to control connection and disconnection between the supply port and the discharge port by giving driving force in the axial line direction to the piston.
