<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position measuring device capable of maintaining high precision and reliability, and assuring easy replacement. <P>SOLUTION: This device is a measuring device 10.1 comprising a strip-shaped scale body 12. The scale body is disposed in a groove part 32 provided in a section or guide section 22.1, and it has a single sensor 14.1. This sensor is movable along the scale body 12 to thus detect information stored in the scale body 12. The length measuring device is provided with a mold unit 50, and the mold unit is provided with a coated flange 30 having a hollow mold range 52, and two abutment ranges 54 protruded sideways in a cross section.
