PURPOSE: An apparatus for exchanging automatically a gift certificate is provided to exchange the gift certificate for cash by applying a predetermined discount rate to the gift certificate. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for exchanging automatically a gift certificate includes a case, a gift certificate input portion(202), a gift certificate recognition portion(204), a memory portion(228), a cash count portion(212), a cash discharge portion(218), and a CPU(Central Processing Unit)(224). The gift certificate input portion receives a gift certificate. The gift certificate recognition portion examines the genuineness of the gift certificate and confirms the amount of money of the gift certificate. The memory portion stores the discount rate information. The cash count portion applies the discount rate to the amount of money of the gift certificate and counts the corresponding amount of money. The cash discharge portion discharges the counted cash to the outside of the case. The CPU is used for controlling all operations of each element. |
