PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic replacing device of a separator capable of efficiently replacing the separator in a slitter line and also capable of economizing an installing space. SOLUTION: In the automatic replacing device of the separator having a winding shaft 1 to wind a strip or a plurality of strips of a width-divided band plate in a coil-like form, the separator 2 in which a separator ring 7 that corrects a shift in the width direction by abutting on the width of the band plate is externally engaged to a separator shaft, and a separator arm 3 that mounts the separator 2 and abuts of the external the periphery of the band plate wound by the winding shaft 1, the automatic replacing device of the separator has a changer 5 provided with a separator 2' in which the interval of the separator ring 7 is adjusted beforehand based on the width dimensional information of the band plate, a horizontally-opposed holder 20 to hold the end of the separator 2 to be replaced, a supporting shaft 21 having the holder 20 provided in the end, and a rotational driving portion 23 to rotate the supporting shaft 21, and the automatic replacing device is made to replace the separator 2' with the separator 2 to be replaced by rotating the holder 20.
