PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a corrosion protection structure for a metallic material, which has an advantageous corrosion protection effect in spite of being fired at a comparatively low temperature, and maintains the corrosion protection effect in a state of light being intercepted, and to provide a surface treatment method for a metallic material. SOLUTION: This corrosion protection structure has a coating layer consisting of titanium oxide and an electroconductive metallic oxide, formed on the surface of a metallic material. The electroconductive metallic oxide is preferably an Sn oxide. The corrosion protection structure is obtained by applying a sol of SnOx/TiO<SB>2</SB>on the surface of the metallic material, and then firing it at 150°C. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
