PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aroma generating device which facilitates smooth falling asleep or pleasant waking and has high convenience. SOLUTION: The aroma generating device (1) is equipped with a first holding vessel (11) wherein aroma for facilitating falling asleep is held and a second holding vessel (12) wherein aroma for facilitating waking is held. A cam shaft (20) connected to a rotary motor (30) is provided with a first cam (21) pushing up a cover (13) of the first holding vessel (11) and a second cam (22) pushing up a cover (14) of the second holding vessel (12). On the occasion when one goes to bed, the cover (13) of the first holding vessel (11) is opened and when a prescribed time passes thereafter, the cover (13) is closed automatically. At a prescribed time before rising, the cover (14) of the second holding vessel (12) is opened and when a prescribed time passes thereafter, the cover (14) is closed automatically.
