<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To freely construct a print processing environment for promoting user's printing cost awareness by each job, by letting a user on the side of a data processing device recognize a total cost required for a print job prior to starting of the print job. <P>SOLUTION: A job-receiving means 102 receives a print job generated by a print driver on a printing control device in a user machine 101, a job- converting means 104 generates print data required by a print engine 103 for performing the received print job, a job cost estimating means 106 performs estimate calculation of the total job cost required for the print job up to its output from the print engine 103, and then a job cost transmitting means 107 transmits the estimated total job cost to the user machine 101. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
