PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup apparatus capable of stably operating the solid-state imaging element at a prescribed temperature even in the case of use of the solid-state imaging element at diversified attitudes and being easily made compact. SOLUTION: The solid-state image pickup apparatus 1 is characterized in to include: a solid-state imaging element for photoelectric converting light; a case 2 provided with an opening to receive light and containing the solid-state imaging element; a thermal conduction member placed between the solid-state imaging element and the inner wall face of the case in a manner of keeping thermal contact between them and for absorbing the heat produced in the solid- state imaging element and delivering the heat toward the case; at least one fluid path 101 formed in an inner area between the inner wall face and the outer wall face of the case, having a suction port H101 for receiving fluid at the outside of the case and a discharge hole H100 discharging the fluid to the outside of the case, and exchanging the heat between the case and the fluid to cool the case; and a fan 90 for producing a fluid flow f101 to move the fluid in the fluid path from the suction port to the discharge hole.
