<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that when a control targeted value of running- optimum power control is set in recording at high multiple speed by using recording power determined by a target asymmetry method, the control targeted value cannot be set in a region where the size of a recording mark changes with regard to a recording power fluctuation, and running-optimum power control is difficult. <P>SOLUTION: The region where the size of the recording mark changes with regard to the recording power fluctuation can be set as the control targeted value of running-optimum power control by making the rate of change of a modulation degree in recording/reproducing into an index of recording power determination. Therefore, the running-optimum power control is achieved, influence to a margin deterioration by stress is suppressed even in high multiple speed recording, and the recording is stably carried out. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
