PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an adhesive capable of keeping heat-resistant adhesiveness at≥300°C high temperature between glass and glass, glass and a metal or glass and ceramic which are each different in coefficient of thermal expansion and keeping airtightness at 350°C high temperature, and to provide a method for producing the adhesive. SOLUTION: (1) The adhesive is composed of a silicone resin comprising at least phenylheptamethylcyclotetrasiloxane and 2,6-cis-diphenylhexamethyl- cycltetrasiloxane. (2) In the adhesive, the silicone resin is preferably thermally cured. (3) The method for producing the adhesive comprises carrying out vacuum heating treatment at least once at a temperature not higher than a temperature at which the adhesive cures in a process for producing the adhesive.
