<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal communication device capable of confirming the situation of a communication party as image information, prior to a call by a telephone or a TV telephone. <P>SOLUTION: When communications are conducted with a user in a remote location, the personal communication device can confirm the situation of a party with images prior to calling to the party. Information identifying the party to be called is specified, transmission of an image indicating the situation of the party is requested, and the requested situation image is seen to get hold of the situation of the party when the image is sent from the remote location. In addition, when a situation request originated from the remote location is sent, a situation image is obtained with resolution of a level by which situation confirmation can be done, and sent back to a calling source, if the request by the calling source is proper. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
