PURPOSE: A deflection yoke for a cathode ray tube is provided to finely adjust the mis-convergence on the vertical and horizontal lines, while allowing for ease of distortions on the vertical and horizontal lines. CONSTITUTION: A deflection yoke comprises a pair of horizontal deflection coils for deflecting, in a horizontal direction, electron beams emitted from an electron gun; a pair of vertical deflection coils for deflecting, in a vertical direction, electron beams emitted from the electron gun; a ferrite core for enhancing deflection efficiency by reducing losses of the magnetic force generated from the current flowing along the horizontal and vertical deflection coils; a main magnet(47) arranged at upper and lower ends of the aperture of the deflection yoke, and which corrects distortions on the screen; and an auxiliary magnet(53) attached to the main magnet in such a manner that the auxiliary magnet changes directions of the N-pole and S-pole.
