PURPOSE: A display device and an electronic program guide displaying method of the display device are provided to selectively block program information from being provided to viewers to protect the viewers from inappropriate programs. CONSTITUTION: An electronic program guide is displayed on a display device. A specific channel is selected from the electronic program guide displayed on the display device(S105). The rating of the selected channel is compared with a predetermined rating(S130). Program information of the selected channel is selectively displayed in the electronic program guide according to the comparison result(S140). The display device includes an input unit for selecting the specific channel from the displayed electronic program guide, and a controller for comparing the rating of the selected channel with the predetermined rating and selectively displaying the program information of the selected channel in the electronic program guide.
