The invention provides a surface member attached to the indication surface of a pen-input device. The surface member comprises a substrate, and a surface layer disposed on the substrate. The surface layer has a dynamic friction coefficient and a static friction coefficient that are adjusted. The dynamic friction coefficient and static friction coefficient that are adjusted, which are measured by moving an input-pen at a speed of 10 cm/sec while contacting the input-pen with the surface of the surface layer under a weight of 200 g in a 20 °C and 50% relative humidity atmosphere, are 0.02-0.5 and 0.4-1.5, respectively.
