PURPOSE: A color cathode ray tube is provided to achieve improved yield rate and luminance by enhancing the quality of the metal reflective film. CONSTITUTION: A cathode ray tube comprises a panel(1) having a flat inner surface; and a mask support(6) attached to the inner surface of the panel by frit glasses(5,5'). The panel includes a phosphor screen(4) formed at the inner surface of the panel, and a metal reflective film attached on the phosphor screen. The metal reflective film is formed all over the phosphor screen, a side surface(20a) of the phosphor screen, and a graphite layer(20b) formed at the inner surface of the panel arranged between the side surface of the phosphor screen and the side surface of the frit glass opposed to the side surface of the phosphor screen.
