<p>An image processing apparatus for decompressing given compressed image data which is obtained from first dividing an original image data into blocks, and compresses the same for each block, includes: a decompression part which decompresses the given compressed image data so as to provide an image which is a collection of the respective blocks; and a smoothing part which performs a smoothing operation on the decompressed image in a manner such that the smoothing effect applied to the image is controlled based on a distance from a block boundary and also based on an edge amount. <IMAGE></p> |
