PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for fitting a belt sleeve to a mold which improves an yield while a belt sleeve having an inner mother mold with a drum and an outer mother mold for vulcanization are made ones of a good inserting workability capable of being relatively and naturally inserted. SOLUTION: In the method for fitting the belt sleeve to the mold wherein an unvulcanized belt sleeve (v) having the inner mother mold 1 with the drum is inserted into a cylindrical outer mother mold 2 for vulcanization, the outer mother mold 2 is in advance expanded in a diameter by heating, and the unvulcanized belt sleeve (v) is inserted into the outer mother mold 2 of which the diameter is expanded. In inserting, by holding not to be lowered by grasping an upper end of the outer mother mold 2 or feeding heated steam into the outer mother mold 2 from below, the outer mother mold 2 should preferably be expanded and held in a shape.
