<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and quickly authenticate a password to reduce the time of access to a storage media by lessening the burden on users in using a device with a security function and a storage media with a security function, relating to an access control method, a storage device and an information processing apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The access control method, for controlling access to the storage media which needs the authentication of a second password from the information processing apparatus to which a device requiring the authentication of a first password can be connected, includes automatically creating a password according to key information read from the device if the result of authentication between a password input to the information processing apparatus and a first password read from the device is correct; and enabling access to the storage media if the result of authentication between the password created and the second password read from the storage media is correct. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
