<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with which the sectional shapes of through-holes disposed in color filter layers can be easily formed to a forward tapered shape and the variation in the height of spacers can be suppressed and the spacers can be arranged with a high degree of freedom. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is formed by selectively providing third colored layers 8c<SB>1</SB>among first to third colored layers 8a<SB>1</SB>to 8c<SB>1</SB>forming the color filter layers 8 with a plurality of through-holes 21, in which a plurality of pixel electrodes 10 are respectively electrically connected through the through-holes 21 to a plurality of switching elements 7 and each of a plurality of the spacers 11 has a structure laminated with a first columnar part 8a<SB>2</SB>consisting of the same material as the material of the first colored layer 8a<SB>1</SB>, a second columnar part 8b<SB>2</SB>consisting of the same material as the material of the second colored layer 8b<SB>1</SB>and the third colored layer 8c<SB>1</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
