PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data base managing system capable of optimally dividing the data of charts configuring a relational data base in an information processor constituted of a plurality of processors and a storage device connected to those processors. SOLUTION: In an environment where processors which are respectively constituted of a processors and an external storage device are hierarchically configured on a network, a chart in a data base is arranged in the dividing method of data suitable for the arbitrary hierarchy, and an access procedure corresponding to each storage means in which the chart is divided and stored is selected according to the inquiry of a user. The chart data in the data base are divided under the consideration of the hierarchy of hardware so that the uniform distribution of the data can be easily executed, and that a data parallel retrieval processing system specific to each dividing system can be selected.
