PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wadding generating minus ion when required. SOLUTION: The wadding is composed of a fiber. The wadding is obtained by attaching inorganic porous powder having pores with≥20 nm average pore diameter and≥20 m<SP>2</SP>/g specific surface area in an amount of≥0.1 wt.% and <5 wt.% through a binder to the surface of the fiber. The wadding can increase numbers of negatively charged molecules or fine particles in the air by≥300/cc at≤10 cm distance from the surface of the fiber under conditions in which recurring stress accompanying at least one of abrasion and vibration is 500 Pa.
