ENCODED INFORMATION DECODING METHOD, RECORDING DEVICE, AND RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the amount of data allocated to a unit area on a recording medium. SOLUTION: An encoding method and circuit satisfy the requirements on the original data having a limited amount of bits when they are disposed two dimensionally, and generates channel data having the limited amount of bits to store on a limited area. The recording method and device record the generated channel data having the limited amount of bits on a limited area according to the above two dimensional layout. The recording medium stores the channel data having the limited amount of bits on the limited area according to the above two dimensional layout. The reproducing method and device reproduce the channel data having the limited amount of bits stored as above.
