METHOD FOR INHIBITING EXPRESSION OF GENE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inhibiting the expression of a target gene by a double-stranded polynucleotide composed of a DNA and an RNA.

SOLUTION: The expression of a target gene is inhibited by preparing a double-stranded polynucleotide composed of a DNA and an RNA having a sequence essentially the same as at least a part of the base sequence of the target gene and introducing the polynucleotide into a cell, tissue or individual body. The double-stranded polynucleotide is stabilized and the synthesis cost is reduced by the inclusion of the DNA.
