PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic field-generating device for an MRI apparatus wherein an operator is easy to access to a patient when imaging is not performed and the compatibility with an IVR is improved. SOLUTION: A pair of magnetic field-generating sources 1 and 2 generate static magnetic fields in the vertical direction across an imaging space. In such magnetic field-generating sources 1 and 2, the upper magnetic field-generating source 2 is retracted from the top of the imaging space 6 by a structure using a hydraulic cylinder, a motor gear mechanism or the like. This static magnetic field-generating device for the MRI apparatus is equipped with such a structure. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
