<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-color image forming material with excellent carrying properties even when it is large-sized, and to provide a method for forming an image using it. <P>SOLUTION: The multi-color image forming material is characterized by a ratio ODI/TI (μm unit) of optical density (ODI) of an image forming layer of a heat-transfer sheet and a layer thickness TI of the image forming layer as at least 1.50, a recording area of a multi-color image of each heat-transfer sheet as a size of at least 515 mm × at least 728 mm, resolution of a transfer image at least 2,400 dpi and both stiffness in the longitudinal direction (Msh) and stiffness in the transverse direction (Tsh) of the heat transfer sheet as 30-70 g and both stiffness in the longitudinal direction (Msr), stiffness in the transverse direction (Tsr) of the image receiving sheet as 40-90 g, and Msh/Tsh and Msr/Tsr respectively as 0.75-1.20 and 10 g≤Msr-Msh≤40 g and 10 g≤Tsr-Tsh≤40 g. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
