<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distribute article contents to personal digital assistants that could be off-line, in an effective way to suit users' liking by making it possible to recommend such contents as ever-changing news articles, which cannot achieved by merely using a coordinate filtering method. <P>SOLUTION: A contents management device 110 stores articles acquired from a contents holder 150 into a DB in a recording device, extracts sub- categories from the articles before storing them, and stores them while attaching identification codes thereto. A coordinate filtering device 120 extracts a plurality of similar users from user history information sent from the user of a personal digital assistants 140, analyzes them to extract candidates for sub-categories to be recommended to the terminal user, sends the candidates to a contents distribution device 130. The contents distribution device in turn sends the candidates to the contents management device. The contents management device retrieves an article based on the candidates for the sub-categories and sends the article to the contents distribution device so that the contents distribution device send the article to the personal digital assistants. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
