PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable gain amplifier with a reduced circuit scale. SOLUTION: The variable gain amplifier includes: a voltage-current converter 100; current sources 3, 5; resistors 8 to 14; output node pairs (N11, N12) and (N21, N22); and switch elements SW1 to SW6. A differential signal supplied to an input node pair (N3, N4) is amplified with a predetermined gain and outputted from the output node pair (N11, N12). The differential signal is also amplified with a gain corresponding to the resistance value between one interconnection node and another interconnection node, among the interconnection nodes N101 to N106 connecting the plurality of the resistors 8 to 14, connected to the output node pair (N21, N22) via the switch elements, and outputted from the output node pair (N21, N22).
