PURPOSE: A profile of a rotor for a screw compressor is provided to minimize the area of a leakage triangle while enlarging the minimum pressure angle of a processing tool. CONSTITUTION: A profile of a rotor for a screw compressor is used to the screw compressor having a housing with working space, a male rotor(1) rotating in the working space and forming grooves between spiral teeth, and a female rotor(2) rotating while engaging with the male rotor, and forming grooves between teeth. The profile is indicated in the axial direction. The profile includes a circular curve, F-G, internally touching with the addendum circle(Af) of the female rotor at a point G, and a curve portion composed of a hyperbola function, r=(epsilon times K)/(1-epsilon times COS theta) of 1.1<=epsilon<=1.15. The curve F-G and a first derived function coincide. The minimum pressure angle of a processing tool is over 8 degrees and the area of a leakage triangle is minimized. The wrap angle of the male rotor is properly limited.
