PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a track cross signal having the amplitude similar to that of an already recorded area even on an unrecorded are of a disk, in a track cross signal producing circuit. SOLUTION: This circuit is provided with: an area discriminating circuit 50 for discriminating whether the reproducing position resides in the already recorded area or the unrecorded area; and a variable gain amplifier 5 for outputting a track cross signal 107 by means that a difference signal 103 from a 1st integrator 2 is made to be the input and a gain is controlled with a negative coefficient in accordance with a sum signal 105 from a 2nd integrator 4 and an area discriminated by the area discriminating circuit.
