PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser output setting method of an optical disk recording/ reproducing device for performing the recording/reproducing operation of a signal with respect to the disk by an optical pickup. SOLUTION: When a test signal is recorded on a trial writing area arranged at the inner peripheral side of the disk, the displaced amount of an objective lens 4 is detected, and also the detected displaced amount and a laser output value are stored in a memory circuit 12, then the correction in accordance with the displaced amount of the objective lens 4 is carried out at the setting time of the laser output made with the detection of the recording property by the reproducing operation of the recorded test signal.
