<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a converter capable of notifying a power source interruption to a station side merely providing a circuit having a simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: A switch 10 sets a route for connecting an electric output signal of a pulse generator 19 to an electrical-to-optical transducing circuit 14 at a power source interruption time of the converter, and switches the set route to a route for connecting an output signal of a signal processing circuit 11 to the transducing circuit 14 at a power source normal time of the transducing circuit. The generator 19 and the converter 14 are set at their lowest limit of an operating power source voltage to a value lower than that of the processing circuit 11 in the converter. Thus, since a third party connected via optical channels 4a, 4b receives the optical signal of a specific pattern to be transmitted from the generator 19, he can recognize a power source interruption in the converter 1b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
